I stayed at the Hyatt for a couple of nights a few weeks ago. Overall it's a decent hotel. It's pretty well-located; a bit of a walk from New Street Station, but it's very convenient for a lot of the major attractions in the city. Staff at check-in were really welcoming. I did spend quite a lot of time during my stay waiting for lifts, which I guess is just a downside of it being a big, high-rise hotel with lots of guests. The room was very Nottingham casino spacious, albeit a bit dated (especially the bathroom). What really bothered me was that I'd paid Em excesso for an upper-floor room to get views of the city, but the windows were FILTHY.
Nice place but didn't feel very welcome as a new guest from out of town. Wasn't offered to sign up to be a member. Some nice punters though seemed friendly enough
Only 1 roulette was open & upon asking for a blackjack to be opened was informed it would be about an hour.
Weekends are busier. However over the years standard has fallen. Multi story car park is always closed. Cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Bham over all has collapsed and some areas worse than third world slums. Hence 3 stars ????
I didn't stay as a guest, but I still had experience with this hotel and would like to leave a review all the same. I did work experience here earlier this month (August 2024) in various departments, as part of a training programme. Upon arrival, I was greeted by one of the lovely receptionists prior to meeting the friendly and professional Operations Manager.
Will defo be back next time we are in Birmingham - thanks to all the Manager and all her team for making our stay so great.
Come here quite regularly. Nicely hidden under the madness of broad Street. Nice relaxed atmosphere with very polite staff They have my favourite beer (Staropramen) on tap too.
Fantastic experience for the whole family's good arrangements for food and seating. Parking can always be better, however for disabled users they do have parking closers to the even sitio and easy access.

Played a game of poker in the private upper cardroom, and was treated to chocolates as it was Valentines evening.
It also felt as if the on-line orders were being catered to first than in house customers. For a big complex like star city, the nandos restaurant was very small and added to the seating issues.
The parking is free and is quite big. I normally go here on the weekend and in the afternoon I never had to wait for parking, always been able to find a spot straight away. Overall it's a good place where you could easily spend a whole day.
Very impressive. Breakfasts were included in my stay and they were fantastic! Exceed my expectations! You can choose whatever you fancy that day and you can have a second helping if you want. Nice staff who is ready to help but it's not all over you. Great job! Very impressive. Thanks a lot.
